In 2014 I filmed a lecture for Stanford University’s Course, “Managing Emergencies: What Every Doctor Must Know.” This course is one of the world’s first online courses focused on emergency care that simultaneously trains medical students at Stanford and Makerere University in Uganda. You can learn more about this incredible educational endeavor here. I was honored to be invited to participate as the speaker on Basic Wound Care.

I have been given permission by the course director, Dr. Matthew Strehlow, to share the materials I recorded for my audience at lacerationrepair.com.

I feel the timing of this post is especially appropriate as it is new intern season at the hospital–this means a lot of freshly minted doctors across all specialties are out there treating patients for the first time. To the recent grads/new interns– I dedicate this to you! (…but I still encourage those of any level of training to watch & learn!)

The lecture is divided in 5 segments. To make it more digestible, I will release a video per week for the next 5 weeks.  Here is Part III: Alternative Wound Closure Techniques.
